Take a short bus ride from Maiori to Amalfi to start your morning. A gem of the Mediterranean coast, Amalfi is well-known for its antique churches, whitewashed buildings, and paper industry. Visit La Piazzetta di Sant'Andrea, the city's central square, to view the Duomo and the magnificent Romanesque-baroque Cattedrale di Sant'Andrea. Amalfi, which was formerly one of Italy's four principal Maritime Republics, is now mostly a resort town. Take a pleasant three-hour stroll from Amalfi to Ravello, a village situated above the Amalfi Coast.
