Jordan, an Arab nation on the east bank of the Jordan River, is defined by ancient monuments, nature reserves and seaside resorts. It’s home to the famed archaeological site of Petra, the Nabatean capital dating to around 300 B.C. Set in a narrow valley with tombs, temples and monuments carved into the surrounding pink sandstone cliffs, Petra earns its nickname, the “Rose City.”
Welcome to Jordan. Our representative meets you with a signage in front of the immigration, Amman Airport. Get to know your friendly, English-speaking chauffeur. 45 minutes transfer to your hotel in Amman. Check in Hotel and take rest. Overnight stay Amman.
Check out from the hotel and travel to Mt Nebo. According to the Hadith, God sent the angle of
death to Prophet Moses, but he refused to die. God told Moses to put his hand on the back of
an ox and for every hair that came under his hand he would be granted a year of life. After the
granted time, Moses asked God for his death near the Promised Land. It is said that this place
was Mt Nebo. After the visit, we proceed to the lowest point on earth the Dead Sea, where you
have leisure time at the beach and the chance to float on water. We continue along the Dead
Sea road to Lot’s Cave. It is believed to be the place where Lot took refuge after the destruction
of Sodom and Amoura. The floor of the cave is decorated with mosaic, and it has pictures of
birds and trees that describe the story of Prophet Lot. Driving southwards we reach Petra,
check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Petra
This day is dedicated to the red rose city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Petra was first
established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in
the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. With the
guide pass the canyon, the so called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury.
Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. The guide says
farewell to you at the restaurant area; free time to explore Petra on your own (for instance
climb the 800 stairs to the Monastery El Deir). In the afternoon drive 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum.
Check into your campsite; enjoy dinner there and an overnight in the desert.
Wadi Rum is considered as one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the world. Here still
Bedouins live in a traditional way, and by 4x4 Jeep tour you discover canyons, sand dunes,
Nabatean rock inscriptions and a natural rock bridge. After a long drive of 4 hours we are back in the
capital Amman. If time permits visit the Citadel hill with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic
period, like the Umayyad Palace, enjoying views over hilly Amman and the Roman Theatre.
Definitely you have time to stroll the busy Souq passing by the Grand Husseini Mosque. Overnight Amman.
We head two hours east to reach the Blessed Tree surrounded by arid land. It is believed that
Prophet Mohammad rested here as a boy when traveling with his uncle to Syria. The monk
Bahira recognized on this occasion Muhammad’s future as Prophet. Back in Amman we stop at
the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, known as Khan Al Raqim. During religious persecution seven
boys hid in a cave, and felt asleep for three hundred years and nine days. The story is
mentioned in the Quran. Return to Amman hotel to spend your last evening in Jordan.
Overnight at Amman.
