The name, which means "Lion Rock," alludes to the way that guests have historically started their last trek to the summit of the monument by going through a lion's throat and open jaws. Regretfully, the enormous paws carved into the rock face are all that's left of this lion sculpture today. Visit Minneriya National Park, a sizable sanctuary of meadows and forests, after lunch. Elephants, leopards, sambar deer, and langur monkeys may be seen in the park, which is situated between Habarana and Polonnaruwa. The massive Minneriya Tank reservoir is at its core. Built more than 1800 years ago by the Anuradhapura civilization, its serene beaches are the ideal location to see stork flocks and elephant herds. Transfer from Minneriya National Park to Hotel.
