The University of Stavanger is a Norwegian university located in Stavanger. UiS was established in 2005 when the former Hgskolen I Stavanger (HiS) was granted status. In 2017, it had approximately 11,000 students and 1,370 organizations, personnel, and administration personnel. It is divided into three sections, including two national centers of ability and the Museum of Archeology. The institution has central grounds located in the region of Ullandhaug.
