Take a hike to one of the area's many breathtaking vistas to earn your meal in the afternoon. Climb the more than 800 steps to reach The Monastery, Petra's tallest edifice and a hilltop temple. Alternatively, visit the equally spectacular High Place of Sacrifice to get a closer look at the ceremonial platform. You'll check into your hotel in the adjacent village of Wadi Musa after a busy day of exploring, and then spend a relaxing evening before heading back to Petra the next morning.

Have breakfast at your accommodation before going to the Dead Sea for a fun-filled day. Enjoy the sun from the wide sands at Ein Bokek beach or take a plunge in the serene, salty sea. Alternatively, spend some time at the Ein Gedi Nature Preserve, where you may stroll through the magnificent botanic gardens, which have over a thousand varieties of native flora, or go on a short hike to a picturesque waterfall. You may also unwind with a mineral-rich mud wrap in the hotel's spa.You might also have time to visit Bethany, the location on the east bank of the Jordan River where it is believed that John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ, depending on when you are due to depart.
