Oman is a culturally rich travel destination with a variety of scenery and activities to keep visitors occupied for weeks at a time. Most tourists who plan an itinerary spend three days in Oman, although some have even less time and include Muscat as their only stop on a shorter route. If your three days in Muscat are your only time in Oman, the schedule below works well for you; but, if your three days in Muscat are your first taste of experiencing more of the Omani countryside, it also works well as part of a shorter itinerary. With its insight into the region’s cultural heritage and history, its distinctive cuisine, and the beauty that awaits discovery at every turn, Muscat contributes to laying the groundwork for what is to come.

Day-01: Wadi Shab - Ras Al Jinz.

Travel from Muscat to Quriyat, a little fishing village along the coast, and then on to Tiwi and Fins, where a stunning white sand beach invites you to take a leisurely swim. After that, the route continues on a graded trail to Wadi Shab, one of Oman's most breathtaking wadis. Wadi Shab flows with fresh water most of the year along with rocky roads and banana plantations. You can plan an overnight stay at Sur and Ras Al Hadd by driving along the coastline route. Travel to Ras al Jinz, a refuge for green turtle breeding, after supper. Turtles lay their eggs at night during the nesting season. Spend the night in Ras Al Hadd.

Day-02: Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands.

Drive to Wadi Bani Khalid after breakfast, an evergreen wadi with tumbling water that creates a turquoise-green swimming pool. The trip continues to Wahaiba Sands, one of Oman's most intriguing and enigmatic areas. Notably, the dunes are home to an incredible diversity of plants and animals, and photographers love the constantly shifting patterns of the dunes. You can go on camel rides, go on an exciting dune drive, and spend the night in a desert.

Day-03: Nizwa Tour - Jabrin - Back to Muscat.

Proceed to Nizwa after breakfast. Nizwa is home to the well-known Round Tower Fort, which dates back to the 17th century, as well as the Souq, which is well-known for its Friday livestock auction, beautifully carved "Khanjars," or daggers, and ornate silver jewelry. After that, go to Jabrin Castle, the best-built castle in Oman, which dates back to the late 17th century. The castle features exquisitely crafted woodcarvings and the pinnacle of Omani ceiling painting. Travel to Muscat and spend the night there.
