Lagos, Badagry, and Abeokuta offer a journey rich in history and culture. Lagos is the most populous city in West Africa and one of the most vibrant in Africa. Its colorful markets, vibrant Central Business District on the island, and rich museums, galleries, and art places make it one of Nigeria’s most interesting destinations. A visit to the nearby town of Badagry in Lagos state, as well as the cities of Abeokuta and Ibadan, will round out a rich and fulfilling journey.
After breakfast, you will visit Lagos town and tour the island, including the Central Business District, Broad Street, Nigeria's Wall Street, the Brazilian quarters where returnee slaves from Brazil resided, the Marina shoreline, and the Onikan Museum.
Another great day of seeing the culture of the Nigerian people, you will left Lagos for Badagry. When you arrive in Badagry, you will set off on a sightseeing tour of the town, Visit the Slave Trade Museum at Chief Mobe's compound. Chief Mobe was one of the early popular slave dealers. Visit the first suspended building in Nigeria. Visit the location of Agia tree, where Christianity was first taught in Nigeria. Visit the Point of No Return, the seaport where slaves are transported across the Atlantic.
Arrive in Abeokuta for sightseeing, including trips to Olumo Rock, the Ake Quarters, and the birthplace of Nigeria's Nobel Laureate in Literature, Prof. Wole Soyinka. Visit Alake's Palace at Itoku Market, which is home to Nigerian tye and dye fabrics.
After breakfast, you will depart for Ibadan for sightseeing, which will include visiting the core and commercial sector of Digbe, visiting Captain Bower's Tower for a panoramic view of the city, Visit Mapo Hall and the Agodi Garden for a natural walk.
This will be the end of your action-packed cultural and historical tour of Nigerian cities, and you will drive to Lagos to catch your departure.
