Begin and finish at Luang Prabang. You can spend three days touring Luang Prabang, Laos, and Pak Ou with the In-depth Cultural trip LUANG PRABANG STOPOVER 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS. The LUANG PRABANG STOPOVER 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS package includes lodging in a hotel, food, transportation, and more. The Mekong and Nam Khan rivers converge at uang Prabang, which is located in northern Laos. It’s close to caves, waterfalls, and strange natural landscapes. Every few feet, jewel-encrusted Buddhist temples and monks in orange robes will appear. It’s less expensive to stay in a riverfront timber villa than at a seedy hostel back home. And the cuisine is fantastic. Pick from a variety of dining options, including contemporary eateries, coffee shops, and bars; French-style bakeries serving freshly baked baguettes and croissants; and traditional Lao cuisine in the night market.
You will be greeted upon arrival at the airport and taken to the hotel for check-in. Visit the Royal Palace Museum, which has a variety of fascinating antiquities, after taking a little nap. Proceed to Wat Mai, one of the most stunning temples in the area, which is well-known for its golden bas-relief. If there's time, we'll stroll around the city center's narrow streets and see people going about their daily lives. We ascend Mount Phousi in the late afternoon to enjoy a panoramic sunset view over the city and the Mekong River, as well as a delightful tour of the revered, golden stupa. After a visit to the well-known Night Market, where you can discover a beautiful assortment of handcrafted textiles created by the locals and hilltribe people that surround Luang Prabang, the journey comes to a close. Spend the night in Luang Prabang
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will take a leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which offers us a beautiful view of the serene countryside. Next, we will arrive at the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, a 16th-century cave monastery containing thousands of Buddha images. It is situated in the limestone cliffs overlooking the Mekong River, 25 kilometers north of Luang Prabang. You will make a stop at Ban Muang Keo along route, which is well-known for its age-old Lao rice whisky distillation process. You'll return to Luang Prabang. Visit the historic Wat Sene and the nearby stunning Wat Xiengthong, a remarkable example of Lao temple architecture with a sweeping two-tiered roof and elaborate mosaics, including a stunning "tree of life" glass montage on the rear temple wall, when you return to the city. If time allows, we'll take a drive outside of the city to see the well-known Thai Lue village of Ban Xangkhong, which is known for its handicrafts. We also go to the neighboring town of Ban Xienglek, which is known for producing traditional Saa paper. Spend the night in Luang Prabang. If you are fond of various ethnic cultures, you can visit Traditional Art and Ethnology Center
As the sun rises, we will get ready to participate in Laos' most revered custom, the daily offering of alms, which has been practiced since the 14th century. Every day, around 200 Buddhist monks leave their many temples to collect their daily sustenance from the devout citizens who are peacefully seated on the streets. After that, we go to the makeshift morning market by the old Royal Palace. The locals gather here to exchange their daily catch, which includes rice, vegetables, fish, and poultry, just laid out on the ground. Following hotel breakfast, we head to Wat Sene, the oldest temple in the city, and the adjoining spectacular Wat Xiengthong, which is a prime example of classical Laotian architecture with its low-lying roofs sloping to the ground. From there, we make a direct transfer to the stunning Kuang Si waterfalls, the largest in the Luang Prabang region. It has three tiers that culminate in a 50-meter drop into breathtaking blue pools before the waterfall flows downstream. The pools are well-liked by both locals and visitors and make excellent swimming holes. If you'd like, spend a brief visit with the Bear Rescue Center, home to a few dozen animals that were saved from the clutches of traffickers and poachers. After that, we head to the airport to board the aircraft out.
