Following your arrival at the airport, take a brief walking tour to see Tripoli's charm. Visit the spectacular mosque in Algeria Square, which was once a church, as well as the colorful Martyrs Square. Please take note that lunch has been excluded. After exploring, spend the night in Tripoli. This trip provides a brief introduction to the city's intriguing history and culture.
Set out early in the morning to visit Leptis Magna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the world's largest and best-preserved Roman city. Discover the Hadrianic Baths, Palaestra, Nymphaeum, Imperial Forum, Basilica, Arches of Tiberius and Trajan, Theatre, Sanctuary of the Divine Emperors, and the inventive Market. Wander through the eastern part, which includes the Circus, the magnificent Amphitheatre, gladiators' anterooms, and animal enclosures. If time allows, stop see the 2nd-century Villa Sileen on your way back to Tripoli. Returning to Tripoli, the "White Bride of the Mediterranean," visit the National Museum, which houses an amazing collection of statues and mosaics. Immerse yourself in the lovely old town of Roman Oea, which is filled with busy souks, historic landmarks, and the Arch of Marcus Aurelius. Finish the day with an overnight stay in Tripoli.
Today, depart from Tripoli to discover the beautiful Jabal Nafusa Berber region. First, stop in Gharyan to see a rare troglodyte home and peruse the town's famous pottery stalls. Next, travel to Yefren, a lovely town 130 kilometers southwest of Tripoli that sits on rocky cliffs and is surrounded by lush trees. Experience the 200-year-old Eslyien House, a classic Berber guest house hidden among historic olive trees with stunning views of the Jabl Nufosa environment. Finally, visit Qasr al-Haj, Libya's most breathtaking Berber granary fortress, which was included in Dan Cruickshank's BBC TV series "The World's 80 Greatest Treasures." Admire the spectacular 13th-century stronghold, with its circular architecture and intriguing history. End the day with an overnight stay in Tripoli.
We go from Tripoli to Sabratha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site established in the fourth century BC. The Theatre is the most striking feature, with its 108 Corinthian columns and marble friezes representing mythical figures. Other important sites include the Punic Mausoleum of Bes, the Antoninus and Zeus Temples, the Court of Justice, and the Roman Forum.
Take your time to shop for souvenirs and local treasures on your last day. Once you’re done, you’ll be taken to the airport for your departure. Have a safe trip
